Setting up an email account in Microsoft Office 2003

1. In Microsoft Outlook, Select Tools -> Email Accounts.

 

2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next.

 

3. For your server type, select "POP3" and click Next.


 

4. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:

Your Name
Enter your first and last name.
E-mail Address
Enter your e-mail address.
User Name
Enter your e-mail address, again.
Password
Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.
Incoming mail server (POP3)
Enter mail.yourdomainname.com for your incoming mail server.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Enter mail.yourdomainname.com for your outgoing mail server.

 

5. Click "More Settings".
On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication." Leave the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" radio button selected. Press Ok.

 

6. Back on the window entitled "Email Accounts", press the "Test Account Settings" Button.  The results should look like the following.  Press the close button.

 

7. Press the "Next" button, then press "Finish"

 

8. If step 6 fails, you can try closing the window, clicking the "More Settings" button, clicking on the "Advanced" Tab, and changing the Outgoing Server (smtp) port from port 25 to port 587 . Press "Ok".  On the Email Accounts window try testing the account settings again.

Setting up an email account in Microsoft Office 2007

1. In Microsoft Outlook, Select Tools -> Account Settings

 

2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select the "New" button on the "Email" tab.

 

3. Select "Microsoft Exchange, Pop3, Imap, or Http" and press "Next"


 

4. Select the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" checkbox and hit "Next".

 

5. Select "Internet Email" and hit "Next".

 

6. On the Internet E-mail Settings window, enter your information as follows:

Your Name
Enter your first and last name.
E-mail Address
Enter your e-mail address.
Account Type
POP3
Incoming mail server (POP3)
Enter mail.yourdomainname.com for your incoming mail server.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Enter mail.yourdomainname.com for your outgoing mail server.
User Name
Enter your e-mail address, again.
Password
Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.


 

7. Click "More Settings".
